Project Archive

This archive provides a chronological overview of selected research, international cooperation, applied-research and university-extension projects that have shaped the development of my work on regional development, resource extraction, public policy, natural-resource governance, society–nature relations and Amazonia.

The archive complements the Projects landing page. While that page highlights current activities and selected projects of particular importance to my research trajectory, the archive provides a broader historical overview and links to individual project pages where more detailed documentation is available.

My subproject examined how mineral extraction could be connected to sustainable regional development, combining research on mining impacts, public policy, global mineral relations and the theoretical limits of existing explanations of regional transformation.

The project also became an important stage in a theoretical transition from approaches based on synergetics and non-linear thermodynamics toward social systems theory.

Research Trajectories

Across these projects, several recurrent research trajectories can be identified. These trajectories connect the historical project archive with the current research fields presented under Research.

Mining & Extractive Transformations
Artisanal and industrial mining, technological change, mineral markets, formalization, resource governance and regional transformation.

Public Policy, Organizations & Regional Intervention
State organization, municipal governance, political elites, planning, evaluation, administrative capacity and the limits of deliberate intervention.

Society–Nature Relations & Sustainability
Material flows, sustainability indicators, environmental governance, climate adaptation, biodiversity and regional sustainability transformation.

Extractive Communities & Collective Organization
Livelihoods, cooperatives, associations, gender relations, resource access and differentiated participation.

These trajectories increasingly intersect with and inform my current theoretical research programme Regional Development in World Society.
